three days after a daring heist at the local donut shoppe, where 500 freshly baked donuts were stolen, investigators receive tip-offs on this mysterious jacket found draped over a chair outside a cafe not too far from the crime scene. in the pockets of the jacket, the investigators found what they believe are the remnants of the thief’s loot.

the donut shoppe owners who were brought in to assist in investigations confirm that these donuts, despite being rotten beyond edibility, indeed resemble flavors in the batch of donuts that were stolen.

incestigators are currently searching for the owner of the jacket. the cafe waiters on shift at the time claim that they didn’t notice anyone sitting at that chair and leaving the jacket behind. also, by sheer coincidence, the cafe has begun offering donuts on their menu…

mmmm… this donut looks so droolsomely delicious we sometimes wish it was real!! it’s life-sized and going for SGD 10.

this lovely neapolitan donut was inspired by my favourite childhood ice-cream.. the neapolitan bar!! this yummilicious handful of strawberry, chocolate and vanilla goes for just SGD 12.

sometmes we like our donuts big!! these giant plushy yummies make great cushions for the car or sofa or bed… or wherever you may need a cushion, basically.

the larger cheddar overload, at left, costs SGD 60 while the cute funny bean donut costs SGD 50.

soft chewy sweet donut topped with creamy fresh durian puree and dollops of fresh cream.. mmm… it’s simply to die for..

so much for the healthy range of donuts (see ‘more finger food!’, 22 oct 2007).. if one’s gonna enjoy a donut, then let it be as decadent as can be! thus our range of creamilicious donuts..

what happens when a strawberry surprise donut is left out in the open for too long? it spoils, of course, which was exactly the fate of this donut in the picture.

some roaming ants, not wanting to pass up on this wonderful find, promptly hopped on and helped themselves to to the sugary-sweet bits of sprinkles on the donut, and later dozed off to a satisfied snooze. unfortunately, the wretched creatures seriously underestimated the caloric value of the sprinkles they had polished off, and awakened finding themselves not only with horrifically fattened bodies, but also stuck fast in the now rock-solid fermented strawberry icing.

here’s a sweet blueberry pie donut so delectable that our purple poonie can’t resist it too! (he hasn’t left it since we were done making it….) seems he’s just a regular greedy billy who just can’t get enough of being near food*.

sadly, purple poonie won’t get to keep this donut.. it’s a donut specially made for gwen.

and this time in really healthy flavors! now you won’t feel so bad about having them around you (if you know what i mean).

i love the colors on these donuts, made one after the other. the one on left is aptly named dunkin’ dreams, because the colors on it are so reminiscent of a dunkin donuts shoppe. the other, which i named strawberry surprise, is a personal donut fantasy: strawberry creme topped ring donut filled with strawberry creme!

snacks are such an indispensable part of daily life.. and of work especially! amidst sheets and sheets of boringly complex/complexly boring documents spread out like cheap tablecloth, this raspberry beauty shines out radiantly, promising to soothe the stiffest shoulders, and calm the most frazzled minds..

as is obvious, this entry has been heavily influenced by my current situation at work… o_O

our donuts come in bite-sized versions too! here’s our first batch of mini donuts. you can’t help but want to eat them.

we didn’t make our first strawberry surprise donut. instead, it was discovered, one day, amongst some spare quilts.

poom (the grey one), and kuma, who had discovered the donut first, sat before their intriguing find for a long time, trying to figure out what it really was.

poom: umm… cake?

kuma: uhh… inner tube i think.

poom: but strawberry smelling..

kuma: hmm… inner tube cake?

it wasn’t long before they lost interest in it and went off to play elsewhere. thence i picked it up and did something more productive with it… like selling it for some money!

these donuts are larger than life! ok.. not really, but still larger than what you’d usually find in your regular donut shoppe.

here’s a look at how big they really are.

we’re packing in the choc (and calories) by embedding M&Ms into our vanilla creme topped choco donut! the result: a candylicious donut that’s more irresistable than the multi-carat diamond ring in the magazine spread.

reality check: the donut is really just small felt bits sewn on bigger bits of felt.. oh well.. at least its 0 calories.

having been forgotten and left in a dark corner of a couch beneath a month-old magazine, this once delectable green tea creme donut has gone all bad..! the dough part has turned black, while the green tea topping has become a scary, blistering toxic-waste kinda green. it must have been artificial green tea flavoring, chock-full of industrial standard preservatives. perhaps it was better left uneaten after all..

here are our special double frosted donuts; cocoa yin yang creme and strawberry yin yang creme. don’t they look so yommy?
